The India trip is designed to inspire growth and increase awareness about yoga and meditation practice. The Fellowship envisions the trip as the start of a larger journey of engagement— our interest is not merely in hosting a trip, but rather in how to appropriately and sustainably keep the immersion experience alive.

Thus, we require Fellows to commit to “paying it forward” by sharing the best of this experience with others back on campus. Our hope is for Fellows to feel inspired to act as “yoga ambassadors” on campus.

Since Fellows will be given a great deal of creative freedom to design their own follow-up ideas, individually and as a cohort, we intentionally leave much room for this aspect of the Fellowship to develop organically. Some possible avenues of engagement may include:

  • working with local and national allies to more deeply explore connections
  • hosting events such as film screenings, book clubs, or awareness days
  • sharing positive messages and inspiration through social media
  • helping to bring the benefits of yoga and meditation to under-represented populations and in underserved spaces
  • supporting and nourishing existing yoga programing on campus
